A prisoner hanged in public
in Hamedan, west of Iran, the state-run IRNA news agency reported.
The prisoner identified as
Mehdi Cheraghi Far, had been sentenced to on the charge of “waging war against
God through armed robbery.”
There was no private
plaintiff in his dossier who was accused of armed robbery of a jewelry store
along with three other men in 2015.
The first defendant of the
case, Bahman Varmazyar was a hairdresser and sports coach who was also involved
in the armed robbery in March 2015. The following month he handed himself in to
the police and returned everything he stole, expressing regret for his actions.
Following the efforts of
Bahman’s family to save their son from execution, the mullahs’ regime falsely
reported that his death sentence had been stopped, but he was executed on
Wednesday morning April 18 early morning. (IRNA state-run News Agency – May.
